Avebury Stone Avenue

Wiltshire weather is currently at its best late afternoon/ early evening. It rained all morning and so the countryside was freshly washed when I set off, camera in hand late afternoon. Avebury is famous throughout the world as one of Britain's most important Bronze Age sites. The standing stones make up one of the largest remaining henge monuments, even older than Stonehenge. It is pretty magical at any time of the year and also the starting point of one of my favourite walks.
The light and cloud movement changed constantly as I walked and I took shot after shot. In the end, I chose this one of one of the standing stones that make up the Stone Avenue leading to the Stone Circle.
Fab day; fab walk.
