Gang Bang

Basil and I went to Charnwood Water for our walk this morning. Springtime behaviour in full evidence and several broods of water fowl.

This poor female brown duck was pounced on by the white one egged on by some of her compatriots. One moment, the white duck had been standing one legged on the bank next to his white mate and the next thing, he was pinning the brown female down.

I could have chosen a nice family group of Greylag Geese goslings with Mum and Dad, but this is nature red in tooth and claw.
