One of 7 coot chick feeding with their parents in amongst the reeds at the edge of the moat here at Fort Brockhurst.
I'm assuming they're called chicks, i think cootlings or cooties would be both excellent names rather than just chicks.

Despite the forecast for rain all day, it's been quite pleasant here in Gosport. I'm hoping for some clear skies overnight so i can drive upto Butser hill to try and image the Milky Way.

No moon to talk of over the next five days so it'll be ideal viewing conditions, clouds permitting.
