Face timing

A screenshot of the boys and I face timing daddy at supper. Andy is travelling on to Switzerland. Lovely to be able to use video call as a catch up, Nathaniel was very excited to see daddy but then became fascinated by the giraffe in the background!
Not your average Wednesday today, with our usual play date off as no one was about (sniff) due to return to work (sob) family holiday (boo hoo) blind deliveries (whimper) and shopping trip (waaah!). All joking aside I was genuinely at a loss as our catch ups have been a sanity saver. Solo parenting this week has been tough so I didn't feel like doing much but nevertheless we went to a Stay & Play which turned out to be excellent. Outdoor play bikes, trikes, pushchairs, water and sand play, slide all great fun. Nathaniel loved it then we discovered the indoor soft play, trains, diggers, snack table and craft tables! He played with paints, sticking and glitter dough...wonderful. Balian watched happily and amazingly didn't need a feed at all.
This afternoon we met Helen and baby Lauren to return the very useful hammock cot at long last. Lots of fun at the playground near them, has a pretend truck so Nathaniel gave us all a lift and then checked the bonnet ("daddy car broken") and wheels ("uh oh wheel come off"). The range rover and his toy cart have taught him well!
