Norvan Falls
Following the Lynn Creek North bound, I took the Lynn Loop Trail and Cedars Mill Trail before catching the Headwaters Trail. The other option would have been to climb further up and take the Headwaters Trail two kilometers earlier. Meanwhile, Antti took the kids to school and caught up with me when I was still down following the creek. We had agreed on a meeting point just in case because over here, you get out of the cell network rather quickly.
I hadn't been this far earlier and wanted to explore the trails further up so the 30m high Norvan Falls was quite a tempting destination for our few hours hike from home. This turned out to be one of the well kept and built trails, very easy to follow and bridges built to places where you cross little creeks. A couple of landslides revealed the roughness of the terrain. Here and there you could once again follow an old skid road and see the huge old stumps in the second growth forest. It took us little less than two hours from home to get this far.
Beyond this point there are a couple of options that were now officially closed because of snow in the higher terrains. One's the Hanes Valley Route that takes you to Grouse Mtn and one is North-East bound Coliseum Route to the top of the Coliseum Mtn. I admit I'm not in the shape of trying those in the near future but got some extra motivation to work on it. Maybe late this summer?
Added a few more pictures here.
Enjoy your weekend!
