Resilient Weed
I love colour, the patterns and the smell of freshly cut wood. I pretend I can make nice things with wood and occasionally I make some thing that looks ok and has 4 legs of equal length. But there is a beauty inherent in the wood. This is a Rhodedendron stump. A weed here. A shame as they provide a wonderful display when they flower. But they have become so prolific, nothing else gets a look in. So they are chopping it all down and burning it. But it is resilient stuff and already shoots are appearing from apparently dead stumps.
