Straight Dykers

Up early and I headed to Lauder for my course. The family got me a voucher for a dry stane dyking course for my birthday.

We were working in a cow field and started by dismantling the wall for 4 metres and preparing the ground. There was 5 of us and we all quietly worked together on the foundations. We had a challenge of big tree roots to bridge, these had damaged the original wall.

Lunch and a chat, what a great bunch to be with.

A beautiful day and we finished the wall off with the covers and coping stones.

Back up the road and a hot bath.

This is the section we had stripped back and rebuilt.
