Ailing's Turn

The pics show the under fives clinic in Lusangazi this morning.
A number of years ago we built this health post to replace a delapidated cow shed, or worse which was used as a local, rural birthing centre.
Now it is uses by the Central Hospital and the Mzuzu Health Clinic to run their monthly outreach clinics.
Over 60 children turned up, with their mothers or grannies. They were weighed by Lillian, our volunteer birth attendant, then taken inside and vaccinated by two visiting nurses. It is an excellent service and the visiting nurses do a great job.
As well as caring foe and monitoring the under fives they seem to care for anyone who turns up.
They hope to start a HIV testing centre soon and some of the visiting students will assist with same.
Oh this is Aisling, one of our Easter Volunteers giving one of the little ones a cuddle
