Lily of the Valley (convallaria majalis)

The Lily of the Valley is the flower for the birth month of May but it might be over by the time of my birthday at the end of May so I thought I would capture it now whilst it is still fresh and new.
It has a beautiful scent but is highly poisonous apparently.
In the language of flowers it signifies the return of happiness and legend tells of the affection of a Lily of the Valley and a Nightingale that did not come back to the woods until the flower bloomed in May. It has several Christian legends too.
