Cooking up a storm

A highlight of our trip was a cooking class in the delightful second city of Battambang. Shopping for ingredients in the market finally helped me learn what some of the random vegetables actually are, and it was interesting to get the insights of the outspoken Khmer teacher about various things that weigh on the mind about life in Cambodia.

Best of all I finally understood the logistics of the bum hose. People use it and then DO have to pull their underwear back up in an environment of general dampness. I was always puzzled by how uncomfortable that must be. Cambodia mystery #346970 solved.
