Road Trip
Heading to southwest Utah desert/canyons to include Zion via southeast desert Oregon and Great Basin Nevada - all on backroads, two lanes that is. We are still packing and leave Saturday morning so one more blip tomorrow from home. After that, catch as catch can - internet spots in these really isolated areas is not easily come by. We will be in land, if populated, it is cattle.
So I am reading and looking at Ansel Adams and others who have shot the western landscape in mono - my passion and commitment. I got a couple of shots today in the woods that I love, and it was about the streaks of light that would hit one branch or whatever. That does not always happen.
Anyway, back to the piles and food - we camp in our van and try to go light but our temperatures from forecasts will run between 24 F to 84 F - calls for layers and both kinds of hats plus rain gear - and of course cameras and lens and computer and and and.
I just looked up the distance - 1,147 miles or 17 hours. We will take at least 3 days. Why hurry?
