Between fen and mountains

Wild flower

Often when viewing food blip I wish their were some magic gustatory button on the computer. Today I wish there were an olfactory button too. In the afternoon, we walked the ridge between the Tet and the Agly valleys and had views across to Canigou in one direction and the to Corbières in the other and to the sea as well. The real reason for going though was because we had been tipped off about the abundance of wild flowers and herbs up there at the moment. We were not disappointed. The smell of thyme pervaded the air and there were wild irises, tulips, peonies, lots of alpines and many flowers I could not identify. This, I believe, is a wild tulip.
