Death and Resurrection
By the 1960s, there were only 4 permanent residents on Easdale Island. Some cottages were still owned and used by descendants of the original inhabitants. Many fell into disrepair. Slowly, as descendants prospered, they restored or bought and restored cottages. The permanent population gradually grew. Today there are around 65 permanent residents, some children and many cottages owned by descendants of the original Easdale families.
