Bluebird

I went to the cemetery this morning looking for shots with flowering spring bushes. I was totally surprised by a gorgeous male bluebird flitting about and resting on tombstones. I just had the fixed lens, LeicaX2 with me, so I sped home for the Nikon with the big girl lens. I was not disappointed,
he was so accommodating reflecting and posing just so pert.

It may look like spring, but the wind was blustery and the temperature felt frigid. I thought about snatching gloves when I ran in to get my Nikon, but I was so afraid that the bluebirds would be gone that I just ran in and out. My hands are still cold several hours later.

I couldn't really choose, so I had to link so many. To me, Bluebirds signify my parents. I saw a couple together here in our backyard on the morning my mother died. Up until that day I had only seen a lone female. That morning, before I knew she was gone, I saw a couple together. I will never, ever forget the sight and suddenly remembering it when I knew my mother was gone, gone to be with my dad.

This one is sweet too.

For the Record,
This day came in sunny and freezing with a wild Alberta clipper fed wind. Brrrr.

All hands healthy
