Somewhere over Canada

We flew the rest of the way across the continent, from Toronto to Vancouver (when I took this photo), then south to Portland, Oregon. Then we were on the road, driving a rented Ford Focus in light rain through neighbourhoods draped with flowering azaleas and cherry trees, across a stunning green-gated bridge into the lee of the cloud-draped Coast Mountains.

We came to a stop in Saint Helens, just an hour's drive from there airport, and we were glad to stop for the night. It was a long day!
