Today's catch

The Heron was deep in the shadows when I saw him quite close by, I waited a few minutes hoping that he would emerge into the sunshine but instead he pounced on a rat by the waters edge and held it for a few moments until two nesting coots came by and scared off the Heron.
I am so pleased that despite the poor light I managed to salvage my photos
