Northern Exposure

Summer breeze.

OK, everyone humming the right soundtrack?

First day of the hols. I'm not officially on holiday yet but I'm waiting for a couple of people to get back to me so I had a bit of a relaxed day with the boys. Popped up to Kirkwall to pick up some things from a client then took the kids for lunch. The day had started out warm and overcast but by the time we got back it was gorgeous. Blue skies, warm, sunny, a gentle breeze and nothing to do but wait for the phone to ring... it didn't... sad eh?

We all had our own ways of coping with the heat. I know breaking the 20° mark is probably still classed as cold for most folk reading this but around here that's reason for a siesta. That was my way of coping - sunglasses, a good book and my hammock... I was sorted. Nibbler chilled in the pond. Ruairidh found some shade under the washing line (tree substitute) and Campbell went for the trunks and total sunblock approach.

My camera battery went dead shortly after I took this one. Or you would have been treated to Campbell and the duckling taking turns at sticking their head in a basin of water. Which then turned into a bit of out of season Dookin for apples!
