Moving Into The Unknown

Farm Life

Two of my favorite photos from long ago (27 years or so)...

In the top photo I'm a young college kid home for a few day and showing off my blisters after unloading several wagons of hay into the barn. Dad was proud that I was in college and that I hadn't forgotten how to work. He always reminded me that I should never forget my roots or the value of hard work. I will always remember.

In the other photo I'm picking up a newborn calf to move her to the fresh straw of a stall. The excitement found in helping a vulnerable new creature in this small way still shapes my thinking today.

So, this blip is a bit of a cheat - although I did take the photo of the photos today. I'm feeling sentimental and a little paralyzed in the creativity department today, hence, this fallback. Also, there's a certainty about these photos that reminds me of who I am - no matter what else may be happening.
