The mere pleasure of knowing

A full day of prison learning and teaching. Lively responses to Maori and aboriginal info. Almost took the whole room out with the fact that aborigines were Caucasian. In return I found out about very sincere and very silly tattoos, was shown quite a few stab wounds (a lot of bad facial scars in here) and was amazed with their creative empathy in writing lost generation aborigine stories. Plus 2 poems, 2 really very good poems, unasked and hewn out of thin air and good thoughts. Most of this is proof of my excellent teacher mentor there and her stimulating lessons. Pressure on for next week to provoke more creative thinking next week.
Once home utterly nauseous with tiredness from the lost night of sleep. I had planned to study but exhaustion creeps in and I take care of more menial to-dos.

The art work is courtesy of my local neighbourhood arts centre and George Eliot. Very inspired by the curiosity and creativity shared today.

Ps some of the prisoners had the best handwriting I have ever seen. Some unable to write more than single nouns in capital letters. Admired the effort on display today. Three guys ran a half marathon for charity, 16 times round the same car park. No water, no support, no variation, no up or down. Mind blowing dedication.
