Heather on Giving Away Books

It being too wet a day to walk to Egypt Plettenberg Bay, "Pete" or Piet (see yesterday's blip) and new friend Brian (a soon-to-be-practising doctor) hopped into Brian's hired car and drove out to the farm to give my husband Chris a book Piet thought might interest him. Again, we had a wonderful few hours with (this time, two) warm and thoughtful human beings.
The book was inscribed thus: "Hester Caroline Pete Chris". Heather says the act of giving away a book that one hopes will be passed on after having been read and enjoyed reminds her of the ideals of "bookcrossing". I plan to be next on that little list of names!
