The Mezquita, Cordoba

It was 34deg C in Cordoba, but inside the Mesquita it felt as if the air conditioning was on. A wondrous, cavernous space with the famous red and white arches in every direction as far as the eye could see, built as a mosque in the 12th. century to house 10,000 worshippers when Cordoba was the largest city in Europe. And then a cathedral was plopped in the middle of it.
