One of our brave soldiers

This is Ken he will be 90 years young on December 21st this year, I met him for the first time today whilst having lunch with my dear friend Dorothy, Ken was a '
newby .....they live in a beautiful apartment block for ' older people' in Heaton Chapel which quite frankly is more like a plush .....
Apart-hotel.....there is a hairdressers a restaurant, people on call 24 hours a day
Quite expensive though..... But piece of mind for the residents and their nearest and dearest.


Anyway I digress....to get back to Ken, he was a delightful gentleman who was sat at the table with Dorothy and myself, he has travelled all over the world with the airforce got injured and was nursed by Royalty ( Lady Mountbatten)..... Also played the saxophone in the band.
He told me that he met his wife ( Beattie) in 1951 and on the day he met her, told his best friend....that she was the woman he was going to marry.....sadly he lost her only a few months ago.
What so privilege it was for me to meet such an interesting Gentleman.
