The way through the woods

The first full day of the holiday was my birthday. My lovely family know me well and I had a goodly pile of books to open (amongst other lovely things). I had thought I'd settle down for the day and read some, but was persuaded that I really ought to go out exploring... It was the right thing to do (she admits, grudgingly).

We were away to celebrate my parents' 40th wedding anniversary earlier in the year, so as well as my little tribe we had my parents, both my sisters and their families with us too - 14 in all (plus Gretal the dog). One of the best parts of the week was seeing the cousins playing happily together. 5 of the 6 are pictured here, mid-explore.
