Into the bull ring
An emotionally charged day for me on the Tenexac ranch today.
I don't approve of bull fighting and consciously didn't attend the event in Tlaxcala the other night.
We had an opportunity to watch trainers and young matadors 'testing' breeding stock today of which this is an example. To explain what is going on. The beast is a cow, not a bull, however they still taunt her in the same way in order to test her aggression and intellect. If she passes, then she will be mated with a good fighting bull to increase the line.
Although awful to watch the bull being prodded by the man on the horse (behind), she was a smart lady and soon learned to charge at the body rather than the cape. She passed with flying colours.
I took many pictures here, including of the young matadors. Aged 15, one was elegant and obviously gifted. The other, less light on his feet got on the sharp end of the bull and had to back out.
