On death row

As part of the city's regeneration, our road has been resurfaced and we've had some new LED street lights installed (amazing to see all the stars at night now). The next step is replacing the footpaths but in order to do a proper job, all the trees that have seen better days are being replaced and this stunning specimen outside our house is on the list for removal. The council chap has promised me it has a stay of execution until after it has finished flowering and it will be replaced with a similar but more upright flowering cherry.
