On call

My husband is on call this week, hence his two matching work phones. It's always a dreaded week. It happens 3-4 times a year and due to his company providing international computer products, the threat of a callout is high. Luckily, he can work from home via remote connection. Unluckily, we recently had to move our computer upstairs into our room to make space for baby things downstairs. We'll eventually be in another room downstairs, but for now we are in the middle of the rearrange.
One on call week last year was so bad with multiple middle of the night calls that it affected my sleep and subsequently my job. He was allowed to sleep in to make up for the hours worked overnight. I got quite grumpy, as you do when you're sleep deprived and was on the verge of complaining to his company. I don't think the partners are often thought of in these kinds of situations. It's only been really bad the once though so fingers crossed this time is ok!
