The Terrace
The one mile walk home after gym torture is so enjoyable now I am blipping. It is almost like being on holiday, seeing the village with new eyes. Unfortunately it is such a grey day, and most of the photos I took would have looked better against a blue sky, so I have chosen this sandstone terrace - it is called a terrace but actually it looks like a crescent with its curve. It has a lovely view overlooking the river, but the disadvantage is that it faces north so does not get sun in the winter, and as there is a hill and more houses at the back it gets no sun there either.
Mr C has gone on his weekly trip to Scotland to see his mother, take her to lunch, do any jobs she needs, do her shopping and then take her for a drive. He went armed with the weekly supply of my homemade soups and crumbles to pop in her freezer for her carer to heat up. I will be cooking him his favourite fish pie for supper. He deserves it I think!
The rest of the day is mine, so I'll plough on with my Vietnam journal started yesterday. I'm enjoying it now I've started.
