First Tulip

Another grey and cold morning here. As I opened the curtains, I spotted the first of the tulips in the front garden had opened. When I first moved here all the tulips were a deep red colour, but over the years some seem to have genetically modified themselves. This one now grows with a yellow edge to it's petals and a couple are now coming up each year as yellow instead of red. One of Nature's little gifts to us gardeners.
