And more cake!
Wow, that's 3 days in a row. If I keep baking cakes, I'll have a blip for each day of the year.
Today I'll show you the inside of the cake. I'm glad we didn't eat it all yesterday, so there's still some left today to take a picture. As you can see, it's really blue.
I made the filling with butter, cream cheese and powdered sugar. The recipe called for 2 cups of powdered sugar, but I figured one would be enough. I also added a packet of vanilla sugar. It's something that's hard to buy here in the US and recipes often ask for vanilla essence or extract. But I like the vanilla sugar and I'll stock up when I'm in the Netherlands or buy it at the asian supermarket over here.
I also put some cherry preserve in the cake to give it more taste. We all liked it and as you can see there's still some left.
