Magnolia
It has been the Easter weekend - symbolic of rebirth and fresh beginnings. Here, in Glasgow, this weekend has seemed to me to reveal the rebirth of nature: at last the leaves on trees are starting to show the lovely soft greens, buds on all sorts of plants like the Azaleas and Hydrangeas are showing their colours, the grass is really growing and will now need regular cutting, the blossom on the cherry trees has finally come into full bloom.
Our Magnolia shrub - which we moved a bit after years of no flowers - has produced this bloom to remind us that winter is over and the summer is starting. It is wonderful seeing everything bursting into fresh life once again.
