Hnefatafl

This is a game my husband and I bought in Inverness Museum, originally brought here (and across Europe) by the Vikings.

The idea is that you have a group of defenders (seen here) and a group of attackers. The defenders have to get the King off the board and the attackers have to stop him. It is both very simple and very hard! Like chess only more so. It is a fun game and I look forward to getting more used to it.
