Resplendent quetzal (male)

Well finally and sadly made it back, arrived yesterday via Miami and spent most of today zonked out through jet lag. What an incredible country, loved the food, people and the whole experience of trekking through primary cloud forest with all the noises and amazing wildlife. Which reminds me of the photo, these birds are rarely seen and were nearly extinct due to natives killing them for their tail feathers. I am honored and pleased not just to see one one but to photograph it. The bird was about 50 feet away and was hidden for ages until it showed it's self for about a minute before flying away. I took over 3,000 photos in the 2 weeks,so going to be busy over the next week or so back blipping.
