Not Nettled By This Weevil

I went out with the camera early. It was a beautiful morning and I thought the sun and the clear blue skies might not last.

My darling grey wagtails were flitting about, their beaks full of flies for their brood. I got some great shots.

I was so excited when I saw this green nettle weevil. I love weevils and I also love droplet bugs. I have a soft spot for these, as one was the subject of the first pic I took using my DSLR and macro lens three years ago.

Lots of bugs about today. I got my first micro moth of the season and a St Mark's Fly. They emerge around St Mark's Day, the 25th April. They were about three weeks late last year. I can't wait for the longhorn moths.
