Grouse moors

Up early, got all my beds dug and weeded in the garden - bin full for collection tomorrow! Then popped to shop to make sure they were ok.

Decided to take the long way back and drive through Barnsdale and back via Fadmoor to Kirkbymoorside. Stopped to look at the view as its a long time since I've done that side of the moors and as I looked out of the car window this Grouse was sat staring back at me!

Panic to find a camera in the car and then slowly let the window down. He stayed just long enough for me to get a quick snap of him, before he clucked and waddled off.

That's a first for me seeing them wandering about out of the shooting season. Glad Moss wasn't in the car!
