You're Trifling With Me!

Tonight we had our "25 Years Living In America" get together with friends, a blend of americans and British expat faux americans. We had a "traditional" english menu, prawn cocktail, bangers and mash with cabbage, peas and lashings of gravy, and of course the trifles for dessert. The cheese course caused the most confusion with the americans wanting to open the cheeses and nibble them before dinner, and the english insisting they wait until after dessert! We must be getting old as at the end of the evening there were more empty bottles of Perrier and San Pellegrino than wine. Sigh. We ended the evening with Pub trivia, and concluded that we were all equally crap at it, no matter where we came from!
