Conquering Demons

So Betty was very upset and worried about going back to school, some of the girls were being mean to her before the holidays. We spoke about it last night and made a plan, but this morning there were tears aplenty. So I phoned the school and we agreed she would speak to DHT this morning.
It was actually the HT who spoke to her, and then brought the mean girls in for a group discussion. It was reiterated that their school is a place where everyone should feel safe and welcome. Betty came home from school much happier.
I thought we might as well go for it with the bike too, and after some teeth gnashing off we went. Being a year taller has made the bike easier to ride, we did a circular loop, 2/3 with Nelly who then went with her Dad leaving me and Betty to enjoy a glorious swoop down the hill to home.
