Rockingham Castle

At Clare's dad's suggestion, we visited Rockingham Castle today. A gem of a place with a some lovely rooms including a drop-dead gorgeous library in the style of Robert Adam.

Sadly, though no doubt wisely, photos aren't allowed inside the house and outside in the courtyards and gardens there were so many visitors with small children and ice creams that it was hard to get an uncluttered shot.

This "street" was one of the quieter corners. There are buildings here spanning eight centuries.
