Family First

Mum and Dad. Just as they are.

They aren't perfect and anyone that knows me knows we've had our differences over the years. But they love, and are loved by so many. I'm wise enough to know how incredibly lucky I am that they chose me. They are unchanging and I'm starting to love that consistency - appreciating them as they are instead of resenting their predictability. They are the people in my life that surprise me the least with words and deeds - maybe that can be a gift instead; willing them to change is and has always been futile.

Today was a loooong day! An early morning Easter service followed by breakfast in the church I grew up in. Then Easter fun with the kids; family, laughter, bickering, photos, food, teasing, snoozing and sunshine.

An Easter roast followed by a long overdue catch up with a very close friend. Some friendships just 'are', even after a 2 year pause they just carry on as before.

And getting the nod of approval from many of the most important people in my life has meant so much - R is instantly liked. The minister talked this morning about how we all need the hope and promise of Easter, and that we need to leave behind fear and anxiety to grasp it. I did today and intend to tomorrow. :)
Happy happy happy.
