Quest for the Milky Way.............

A trip up to Old Winchester Hill on a recce to try and find a decent location that isn't to affected by light pollution. This image was taken at 2-30 this morning, looking at the image it could have been taken this afternoon, except that at 2-30 the rain was absolutely lashing down. (well it is a bank holiday)
My other option was Butser hill, apart from the light pollution i need something in the forground of the image, here on Winchester Hill there are two huge trees which will silhouette nicely, where as, on Butser hill there's a radio station with huge masts which may work quite well.
I'm looking forward to next w/end when the moon will be hardly visible at all, just hope it's not cloudy or raining.
