Cuckoo Steps

On the St Ives Estate Nr Bingley. W. Yorks. UK

Decaying steps leading to the terrace of Cuckoo Nest Barn (a Listed building) which dates from 1857 (as featured yesterday). The barn overlooks a sweeping vista of the whole of Harden Beck valley including Ruin Bank Wood on the opposite side.

In this wood is a stone tower built as a folly by the Ferrand family ( the original estate owners) to give them a sublime and inspiring feature to contemplate on their strolls around the estate.
