Knitting Gander

I cook, I clean, and now I knit.

That's right, This Gander has just knitted two coasters! They are perfect for a small mug or maybe a...hmmm...shot glass?

Thanks to a lot of help from The Goose's mother, I know some of the basics, and what it means to "cast on" and "cast off".

t took me VERY long to knit both of these as I kept finding ways to mess up. Also, the first one was made using chopsticks...as I am in China. I was kindly given some needles for the second one and future projects. I think I am almost ready to start on a scarf.

One of my sister-in-laws is a knitting enthusiast and has made many beautiful things. I hope to someday be in position to sit down with her and knit the night away while watching baseball with her husband, maybe taking a break to smoke a cigar and bake a pie. That would be the day.

(We are finally in Hong Kong after a DISASTER border crossing. It took a total of 5 hours to get to Hong Kong when it should have only taken an hour. Most of the time was spent standing in lines, and trying not to be trampled over by the running masses)
