Last Light over Lake Ellesmere/Te Waihora

A lazy Easter Sunday presented the perfect opportunity to head to the lake shore just off Sunset Point to take photos of the last light over the lake.

The recent heavy rains (185mm this week in the valley!) have seen the lake levels rise, with the shoreline now just off the rail trail. I therefore had to put on my gumboots and to wade through shin deep water to grab this shot of the old fence line stretching out towards the islands, paranoid at all times that I'd drop a filter, lens hood or remote control into Te Waihora's waters at any point...
