Drying off

My last day in the office this year started with a walk down the North Bank to the Strand. This cormorant was drying off after a spot of fishing so I thought I'd take a shot. The buildings behind him are the Hayward Gallery, Royal Festival Hall and the Shell Building on the South Bank.

A busy day with lots to do and most of it was done - hooray! Around 4.30, I noticed groups of people walking past me, then realised that they had surrounded me - the ritual birthday embarrassment followed (they watch while I'm presented with a present, which I then unwrap). I was spoiled - a lovely posh smelly and a guinea pig eggcup from Liberty. The egg cup looks uncannily like Big Sid. Well chosen presents!

In the evening, I treated Fi to dinner for looking after the pets during Christmas and over the past few weeks. It was also a celebration as she's had her offer on a house in Brighton accepted. I'll be very sad to see her go, but I can visit Brighton easily, and there's a spare bedroom. She'll never be rid of me :-)
