PIED SHAG

What a great day we had here in Christchurch for Easter Sunday. Everyone was out and about - including this Pied shag. Some say this cross like shape has a spiritual significance but in fact its just drying out ! Too wet and it gets waterlogged - hence the shag can only sustain a short time fishing under water -it would not be able to fly and it would probably sink !!
