Singing Ice Prisms
I went to Lake Winnisquam to catch the sunset, and as I was walking toward the shore, I could hear an unusual sound. It was a very gentle clinking sound, all over the lake. It sounded like tinkle, tinkle, tinkle. When I looked down, the ice had broken up and was all along the shoreline. As the sun was setting, the ice prisms were glistening and singing, like an ice orchestra!
All the years I have seen the ice diminish, I have never heard this, or have seen the ice in perfect little prisms! Really cool!
