My Aim is True

Black Friday

For any blippers outside the UK, the chances are that the next couple of paragraphs will mean nothing to you.

It was the last Wogan show this morning. And i am going to miss him, although I do like Chris Evans and his Radio 1 and Virgin radio breakfast shows were great. So I am sure he'll be a great replacement.

Mostly Wogan played pretty good music (although there could be quite a few cheesy numbers...if I never hear Dire Straits again, it will still be too soon). The chat was witty, entertaining and very often rather smutty. (double entendres, and quite often just a single entendre) There's a bit for non-rational belief-system practitioners to squawk on in their usual trite shite way - but I found that a handy time to brush my teeth and wash my face.

(just as an aside here, Thought for The Day on radio 4 is constantly pointed out as being an example of the BBC's ridiculous bias towards religion, yet Pause for Thought seems to slip under the radar. I've never worked out why)

Anyway in other news; after a couple of days of sweets, chocolate, bacon rolls, coffees, liquers, wine, beer, wine, chocolate, mince pies, chocolate, wine......I headed home to have a proper meal and a few cups of tea. rather tame for Black Friday.

On the way home I saw lots of folks out to celebrate Black Friday. By that time the pavements were very icy, and it's sooooo cold. So I have no idea how all the revellers I saw are going to mange what with their very high stillettos and lack of clothing.
