Picnic in the Park
Today Luke and I put on some summery clothes and packed up a picnic for a date in the park.
I wore an Ariel Disneybound outfit for the occasion which consisted of a light green skirt with tulle overlay, a nude vest top, purple cropped cardigan, green belt and sandals, a pink flower in my hair and a necklace that has a shell with a pearl inside it. I also added Ariel and Flounder charms to the pendant to complete the outfit. Luke took a photo of me with my Dinglehopper hairbrush, Scuttle would have been proud!
We took some salad, coleslaw and grapes and some Spanish omelette in my snack pots, and on the walk to town we picked up some crusty rolls, butter and drinks. We walked to the food market which is in Temple Bar on Saturdays and bought some wild boar salami, a cheese selection box with cow, goat and sheep cheese, some atlas olives with garlic and a butter-bean salad with sun-dried tomatoes and basil. We also picked up a bottle of Orchard Glow spiced apple juice to have with our Easter lamb roast this week.
We took all our delicious food to St. Patricks cathedral park and found a nice spot in the sun. We set down a beach towel and unpacked the picnic. The food was heavenly and so fresh it all tasted wonderful.
While we ate there was a friendly and inquisitive small dog that kept wandering over and a pigeon that stole some cheese that I accidentally dropped onto the grass. It reminded us of Yogi Bear stealing other people's pic-a-nic baskets, and it made me laugh a lot when Luke did the voice.
After we had finished our picnic we bought '99' ice-creams with lime and strawberry syrup and as we had decided to celebrate Easter together today on our day off, I also had a chocolate flake! My 'first' chocolate since giving it up for Lent. Yummy.
We ate our cornets on the walk home and when we got in we slouched on the sofa in the sun and I had a little nap; it was so lovely.
When I woke up I made us cups of tea and we watched some episodes of Grimm before having a little snack and heading up to bed.
Today I am grateful for Luke's spare spends for our picnic date, I love feeling spoiled especially with good food!
