Easter basket

There will surely be more eggs than will fit in this basket!

Last day of the school term today, and I wasn't sure it was going to happen, as we had rather a large storm which knocked the power out first thing. As we're on tank water it was possible that without electricity, school would be closed because the water pump wouldn't work. Thankfully it wasn't closed and the day went as planned.

Grandparents day at school, which meant that some VERY brave grandparents made their way out in the awful weather to be with their grandchildren. Grandma managed to get there, much to the girls delight, as their other grandparents were unable to go.

The kids had been practicing this iconic kiwi choon all term in anticipation of singing it at Grandparents day. Apparently the power had been knocked out at the time of the performance, so the backing track was unable to be played. One of the teachers then went on to announce that there was a surprise, and up stood Jordan Luck (singer of the band) with his guitar and there was an almighty sing along. Not sure that many of the kids and grandparents knew who he was...generational gaps you know. The people there of my generation were VERY impressed.

In other news, we've got a BIG JOB ahead of us tomorrow. Next door's tree has been blown over onto our roof. Thanks storm.
