It's nothing but hot Ayr!
I didn't bother going out last night and was nodding off over a Wilbur Smith book before midnight... Wild excitement eh? Oh well..
I woke at 6:20 with a jolt and a very stiff neck from sitting up all night. Marvellous! I stayed in bed for a couple of hours to get the kinks out of my spine and soon dozed off again. How I love bank holiday weekends. Mom shouted something about going out - I assumed she was going to mass - and I heard the door bang shut shortly afterwards. I went upstairs after my shower and had breakfast while watching a program about Edinburgh Airport mom had recorded and also last night's Masterchef. By the time I'd finished that, mom had returned having clearly been to the hairdressers! She'd gone there before mass but apparently it was just prayers today with no service but there would be a full Easter celebration tomorrow. I shall be trying to avoid attending that....
Anyway, we wandered all along the seafront down to the Secret Garden for lunch and then she went back home and I carried on up to Alloway. The last time I'd walked up there the Burns Monument had been surrounded by scaffolding and inaccessible to the public. Thank goodness the renovations were all finished and I spent a happy couple of hours wandering round the gardens, up the monument to admire the view and over all of the bridges. I was in a thoughtful mood and with the exception of the shop assistant in the newsagent where I bought a minty Cornetto, I didn't speak to a soul all day.
I took too many pictures as usual and could not decide what to use. This view of Brig o' Doon taken from another bridge further along was what I settled on in the end; the one I took from Brig o' Doon itself was too similar to one I'd taken at another time.
Go large...
I dawdled slowly back after that enjoying the warmth of the sun.
Track? I just feel the urge to play one of my favourite Stones numbers - Paint It Black
