Afghan Blanket

This is my latest creative offering. I finished it yesterday.

I really like the colours I chose for this; I'm pleased with the pattern and it was easy to work up. But I'm still disappointed with it. The pattern came from a new pattern book I bought last month. The instructions said the finished article would be 45" x 65" but, although I used the right weight yarn, the right size hook and followed the instructions exactly, my blanket is only 2/3 the size. So what should have been a double bed size blanket won't even fit a single bed.

I wasn't making it to use as a bed cover so I don't suppose the lack of size matters but it does rather put me off using any of the other patterns in the book.
